The dredger HYDROMER, ordered by the Occitanie Region, is still being fitted out at the Piriou in Concarneau. After more than two months moored at the quay, the dredger is now dry docked and joined the shipyard, in the Moros area.
At the beginning of May, the teams of Carenco carried out delicate operations to move the dredger Hydromer to the Piriou shipyard. This 70-meter-long workboat, designed for port maintenance in the Gulf of Lion, is equipped with a hybrid diesel/hydrogen production system.
The operation was successfully carried out by all the port services departments: Carenco, pilot, towage, and mooring services.
- Good weather conditions were necessary, as the vessel was unladen, non-motorized and with a very important draught.
- Moving the Hydromer dredger in the water with the help of the Brest and Lorient dockworkers to reach the opposite shore.
- Getting the dredge on dry dock in the ship repair area with the boat elevator
- Transfer on rail to reach the Piriou shipyards with direct access.
Piriou is continuing the construction work of the Hydromer dredger in Concarneau, until its delivery, scheduled for the end of the year.
